Leaving Las Vegas Leaving Las Vegas is an MGM film made in 1995 with Nicolas Cage and Elisabeth Shue directed by Mike Figgis. It is based on a novel by John O'Brien.
Two weeks after the production of the film had started, O'Brien committed suicide. A halt of the project was considered, but work on the film was continued as an in memoriam of sorts.
Monte Carlo Method Monte Carlo methods are algorithms for solving various kinds of computational problems by using random numbers (or more often pseudo-random numbers), as opposed to deterministic algorithms. Monte Carlo methods are extremely important in computational physics and related applied fields, and have diverse applications from esoteric quantum chromodynamics calculations to designing heat shields and aerodynamic forms. These methods have proven efficient in solving the integro-differential equations defining the radiance field, and thus these methods have been used in global illumination computations which produce photorealistic images of virtual 3D models, with applications in video games, architecture, design, computer generated films, special effects in cinema, business, economics and other fields.
Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas: A Savage Journey to the Heart of the American Dream is a novel by Hunter S. Thompson. The story follows its protagonist, Raoul Duke, and his attorney, Dr. Gonzo, as they descend on Las Vegas to chase the American dream through a drug-induced haze. Duke and Gonzo were sendups of Thompson himself and Chicano lawyer Oscar Zeta Acosta respectively.
Las Vegas Outlaws The Only Season: The Las Vegas Outlaws were a team in the short-lived XFL in the Western Division with the Los Angeles Xtreme, San Francisco Demons and the Memphis Maniax. Among the team's players were the XFL's most well-known, Rod Smart (later with the National Football League's Philadelphia Eagles, now with the Carolina Panthers), who went by the nickname of "He Hate Me", which appeared on the back of his jersey. He was originally going to put "They Hate Me", but there wasn't enough room. The Outlaws competed in the XFL's only season, held in the spring of 2001. They finished in 4th place in the division with a record of 4-6.
La Monte Young La Monte Young (born October 14 1935) is an American composer whose eccentric and often hard-to-find works have been included among the most important post World War II avant-garde or experimental music. Both his Fluxus influenced and "minimal" compositions question the nature of music and often stress elements of performance not normally indicated. He is normally listed as one of the "big four" minimalists along with Philip Glass, Steve Reich, and Terry Riley, despite having little in common with Glass and Reich.

The follow-up acoustic set "El Concierto Acústico" (1997), recorded live, in which they played acoustic versions of the songs in "Fiel a la Vega", boasted covers from latin American artists such as Roy Brown, Leon Gieco, Silvio Rodriguez, and Haciendo Punto en Otro Son. In 1998, amidst relentless touring they released "A Quien Pueda Interesar", now turned national stars they became the first Puerto Rican band to headline and sell out the Roberto Clemente Coliseum. Rallye Automobile Monte Carlo The Monte Carlo Rally (officially Rallye Automobile Monte Carlo) is a rally racing event organized each year by the Automobile Club de Monaco who also organize the F1 Grand Prix of Monaco and the Monaco Kart Cup. The race takes place along the French Riviera in the Principality of Monaco and southeast France.
Markov Chain Monte Carlo Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) methods, sometimes called random walk Monte Carlo methods, are a class of algorithms for sampling from probability distributions based on constructing a Markov chain that has the desired distribution as its stationary distribution. The state of the chain after a large number of steps is then used as a sample from the desired distribution. The quality of the sample improves as a function of the number of steps.
