Many people ask themselves if it is wise to purchase travel insurance when going abroad.  Holidays, if they are for business or pleasure can be expensive and insurance prices on top of that can be too much for some.  Deciding to take the risk and travel without insurance looks like an easy way to save money for some people. Especially if they have taken out travel insurance in the past and never had to use it.    So if you are one of the many people who are wondering is it wise to purchase travel insurance, here are a few reasons why you should. 

Travel insurance is there should the unthinkable happen.  It is there to protect you against any eventuality whilst you are on your holiday.  Although you may have traveled previously and never had to make a claim, this could be the time when you do.  And it is that uncertainty which is the first and most important reason for buying insurance.

Think about what you would do if your bags were stolen, or if you had an accident which involved high medical bills.  The cost would certainly outweigh the price of an insurance package. 

The reason to have a good insurance policy is even more important if you are planning a more adventurous holiday.  If you are thinking about taking a trip that involves any kind of sport, travel insurance should be at the top of your priority list.
