Coffee provides a surprising number of health benefits.
Coffee and antioxidants
Move over green tea and make room for coffee. Researchers have found that coffee supplies as much as four times the amount of antioxidants than does green tea. Some companies are trying to cash in on this by selling green coffee products but medium roasting actually enhances the number of anti oxidants. Robusta beans have more anti oxidants than Arabica.
Coffee and diabetes
Type two diabetes is at epidemic levels but coffee lowers the risk of getting it. If they drink six or more cups of a day, coffee drinkers lower their risk for type two diabetes. The risk is reduced by 50% for men and 25% for women. This is irregardless of other factors such as being overweight.
Other health benefits
Coffee reduces the number of asthma attacks in asthma. It improves short term memory and concentration. Evidences shows that it lowers the risk of colon cancer, gallstones, liver damage, and Parkinson's disease.
